Welcome to the website of the English Speaking Members Department (ESMD) of the HK-YWCA. We've been a vibrant, unique and non-profit resource for expatriates and English-speakers living in Hong Kong for over 60 years.
Today the ESMD is an active, exciting department offering over 1000 different courses, talks, outings and events year-round through three programmes (Spring, Summer, Autumn) including day and evening courses for adults, children and domestic helpers taught by Native English Speakers.
Are you an expatriate or an English speaker new to Hong Kong? Are you spending too much time looking for useful and meaningful things to do? Would you like to be a part of something interesting? If so, The English Speaking Members Department (ESMD) of the HK-YWCA is your resource for useful information to making the most of of your time in Hong Kong.
Meet like-minded people and get involved by way of our extensive day, evening and weekend courses for children, domestic helpers and adults. Get more out of life on courses such as Cantonese, Mandarin, language, arts & crafts, photography, painting, cooking, knitting, embroidery, parenting and lifestyle, first aid and emergency, health and fitness, tours on local culture and heritage, worshops, outing, local walks, bazaars, funday days and free seminars.
